Aqualite Filter Cartridges
Your water will be perfectly clean and healthy until the cartridge resource is exhausted. After that, water starts passing through without proper filtration, and in some cases, the cartridge itself can become a source of contamination. That's why it's important to monitor cartridge lifespan and avoid using them beyond their effective period.
Aqualite produces cartridges for most common filter formats: three-stage inline systems, reverse osmosis, and mainline installations. All products undergo multi-stage quality control.
Product Range
- Mechanical cartridges (PS). First filtration stage – trap sand, rust, silt particles, and other suspensions. Aqualite offers polypropylene cartridges with micron ratings of 1, 5, 10, and 20 µm in Slim Line and Big Blue formats. For reverse osmosis pre-filtration, we recommend using a cartridge with a micron rating of no more than 5 µm.
- Carbon cartridges (GAC and CTO). GAC – granular activated carbon from coconut shells, effectively removes chlorine, organic compounds, petroleum products, and phenols. CTO – compressed carbon block that, in addition to chlorine adsorption, also traps fine mechanical particles. CTO cartridges are installed after GAC or directly before the membrane where finer filtration is required.
- Iron removal cartridges (Ferrum). Designed for water with elevated levels of dissolved iron. Particularly important if you source water from a well, borehole, or location where iron content in the supply exceeds recommended levels. One Aqualite Ferrum cartridge has a capacity of 2,000 liters.
- Water softening cartridges (HARD). Contain ion-exchange resin that replaces calcium and magnesium ions with sodium ions. Reduce water hardness, protecting appliances from limescale buildup. Primarily used in the TRIO kit for hard tap water.
- Mineralizers. After reverse osmosis, water loses most dissolved salts, including beneficial trace elements. The Aqualite mineralizer based on Imerys Calcite restores calcium to the water, raises pH, and improves taste. A separate Mineral 4-in-1 option with multiple components is also available.
- Reverse osmosis membranes. Semi-permeable AQ-1812 membranes with 50 and 100 GPD capacity. The main filtering element of reverse osmosis systems, where fine molecular-level purification takes place.
- Ready-made kits. Aqualite TRIO, TRIO Fe, OSMO, Premium – pre-assembled cartridge sets for specific tasks. TRIO covers standard inline filter needs, TRIO Fe is suitable for iron-rich water, while OSMO and Premium are designed for reverse osmosis membrane pre-treatment.
How to Choose a Cartridge
The most important factors when selecting: which water filter you have, what water issue you're addressing, and when cartridges were last replaced. For a three-housing inline filter – choose a kit tailored to your specific concern (chlorine, iron, hardness). For reverse osmosis systems – you'll need pre-filters matching your housing format, a membrane, and a post-filter or mineralizer.
By size: most inline filters and osmosis systems use the Slim Line 10'' (2.5''x10'') format. Mainline filters typically accommodate Big Blue 10'' or 20''. Verify housing dimensions before ordering.
Replacement schedule: mechanical cartridges should be changed every 3-6 months depending on water contamination levels, carbon cartridges every 6-12 months, reverse osmosis membranes every 1-3 years, and post-filters/mineralizers annually.
All Aqualite cartridges are compatible with standard filter housings from most manufacturers on the market.
