Inside, it contains a BIRM-based filtration media that actively oxidizes and traps iron and manganese. The cartridge operates gently, without chemicals, and does not alter the chemical composition of water — making it clear, odorless, and free from metallic taste.

Where and how it is used

The Aqualite FERRUM10BB cartridge is installed in 10" Big Blue housings after a mechanical pre-filter. It is used for well, borehole, or municipal water with elevated iron content. Suitable for private houses, cottages, and offices where water appears rusty or smells like metal. After filtration, water becomes clear, leaves no stains on sinks, and does not damage household appliances.

Maintenance

The cartridge should be replaced approximately every 3–6 months, or sooner if the water becomes cloudy or metallic again. It cannot be regenerated or washed because the active media gradually loses its properties. For stable system performance, always use original Aqualite cartridges — designed for long and safe operation even with problematic water.
