Cartridges for Main Line Filters - Aqualite

The cartridge is the main element that determines the quality of your water after purification. The housing lasts for years, while the cartridge is replaced every few months depending on water quality and intensity of use. Therefore, it's important to select the right type for your specific task.
This category features replaceable cartridges in the most common format for residential main line filters. They are compatible with housings from most manufacturers: Ecosoft, Atlas Filtri, Raifil, Aquafilter, Briez, and other systems with 1/2'' or 3/4'' threads.
You can browse available options in our catalog of water filter cartridges.

Types of Cartridges for Main Line Filters

  1. Polypropylene (PP) – trap mechanical impurities: sand, silt, rust, fine clay particles. Available with different filtration densities: 1, 5, 10, 20 microns. The lower the number, the smaller the particles the cartridge can trap. Suitable as a first purification stage before carbon or membrane filters.
  2. Carbon (CTO, GAC) – remove chlorine, chlorinated compounds, unpleasant odors and tastes. Ideal for municipal water supplies where water is actively chlorinated. Carbon cartridges made from compressed activated carbon (CTO) also additionally trap fine suspended particles.
  3. Iron removal (Ferrum) – reduce dissolved iron and manganese content in water. Essential where water has a characteristic rusty tint, sediment, or metallic taste – typically wells and boreholes.

When to Replace the Cartridge

The average lifespan of a 10'' Slim cartridge ranges from 3 to 6 months or 10,000 to 20,000 liters, depending on the type and quality of incoming water. If you notice a significant drop in system pressure or if the water starts tasting or smelling of chlorine again, it's time to replace the cartridge – don't wait for the recommended term to expire.
Replacing a cartridge in a main line filter is straightforward: shut off the water supply, unscrew the housing with a special wrench, remove the spent element, insert the new one, and reassemble. The entire process takes just a few minutes and requires no professional plumber.
